Looks aren't everything, but don't write them off. A beautiful kitchen has very tangible benefits. A design you love will impact your daily lifestyle — after all, most people spend a large percentage of their time at home in the kitchen, even if they aren't cooking! The image above is the perfect example of a kitchen remodel that also fosters an environment to gather round during food prep.
One defining feature of country-inspired spaces is that they typically have a bright, open, airy feel. For anyone who favors a neutral look, white is the obvious choice for the dominant color in the room. But warmer hues such as yellow or tan will also brighten up the space.
Others abhor the open option; I've heard their concern about grease, bugs, and worse of all, clutter. Are these cons worthy of consideration? Yes. Are they deal breakers for the open shelving design trend? Absolutely not.
Like a ray of sunshine, yellow is the color of optimism and cheerfulness; it is even known to stimulate appetites. It's a fantastic color to brighten any kitchen, especially dark or small spaces.
