Outdated kitchens were made with materials that were popular decades ago, including metals used for kitchen hardware. With manufacturer's releasing innovative materials and design trends following suit, it may be time to rethink your drawer pulls and lighting fixtures.
No two islands are created alike. Before you settle on a final choice, consider whether your island should have extra storage, details such as a farmhouse sink or built-in butcher block, or multiple functions like a breakfast bar.
When choosing a yellow tone, be mindful of its intensity. Vibrant yellows are best used as accent colors throughout the kitchen; think bar stools, an accent wall or a backsplash. Pale or buttery yellows nicely take the place of white cabinets or surfaces. They also pair well with existing brown and wood tones.
There are many different ways you can approach this decision, and since an island takes up a significant amount of floor space it's worth it to take time to make every element of its design intentional.
