For our four walls that will inspire intense logorrhea and will turn the most confidential of us into secret sharers we paint with the color Purple- the one according to the Munsell Color Chart system. It’s an intense color that has some mulberry and violet incorporated to meet the criteria for the impeccable hue.
A bookshelf can look cluttered. If you don’t need to access its contents on a regular basis, hang a large piece of art from the shelves, as shown in the next space designed by John Dransfield and Geoffrey Ross. Not only is this technique a great way to maximize limited wall space, it stylishly hides the shelf’s contents. In fact, try placing paperwork or other unsightly items behind the canvas!
While stark white looks great in modern spaces, often a softer color is desirable for an elegant room. If that is the case for you, choose something with a hint of grey or yellow. I recommend staying away from anything too darkly beige — you will lose the airy open feeling. This color is Barren Plain 2111-60 by Benjamin Moore. Notice the contrasting decor elements: the black stripe on the curtains, purple couch, black frames and dark floors.
There is absolutely no doubt that gray is indeed the hottest neutral shade currently making the rounds. and it has been the preferred choice of interior designers for the past year or two. With the trend is showing no signs of slowing, this summer might be the ideal time to add this relaxing and elegant shade to your living room, even as you plan ahead for fall and spring. While shades like white, black and silver are regularly used along with gray, why not give your home a different hue this season with some bright yellows?
